Currently at the Corowa Jewellery, Alkermi Gallery at 104 Sanger Street in Corowa, this exhibition and its name has come about for several reasons. In July of 2023 Stephen and I had what could be described as a trip of a lifetime to Mongolia via a few choice places along the way. It came about because we had a credit (ticket) that we had kept over from a cancelled trip from covid times. It was a trip of contrasts. We went from the relative poverty of Timor Leste to the opulence of Singapore, to the safety of Mongolia and Japan to the unstable in the DMZ Zone on the Korea borderlands. It highlighted life and all its complicated beauty, fairness, and safe levels. We came back feeling that life is. definitely something that you must keep your ticket in and treasure daily and we felt we got dealt a great ticket for this trip. The theme kept coming up for us as we travelled as we were constantly asked if we had “Kept our Ticket” time and time again for different trips and attractions. Hence the title. Life is however a raffle and upon our return we found out that others in our lives had not been dealt such a good draw. Currently we have 7 friends and family members fighting cancer. Hence the exhibition. You may not know them personally, but they are members of the community, mothers, fathers, friends, and they all need to know that others are there to help. So, buy an artwork or piece of jewellery or all of the above and everyone comes out a winner this time. We thank you very much for your support.
